End of Week 2

Wow, it's been quite a while since my last blog, I've been quite focused into starting my Horror research this week so I'd forgotten about this.

Anyways as I've said, I've started my research into the Horror genre. I've written up about what Horror is, when it started, the timeline from the birth to current day, some theories on why it's scary and last night I finished writing up about 'Survival Horror' in Videogames. I have about 13 intensive sides in my book, with a few blank sides left to place previous work in, but as we're half way through this unit already, I'll need to save that 'til the end as pressure is starting to build on getting our videos filmed and edited!

I have a lot of ideas on what I'm going to base my video on, just it's going to be really hard trying to compress it all into 5 mins. My video will be a documentary based on the research from my Sketchbook just explaining nearly everything about the horror genre and using clips from certain Horror films to help emphasize my points. I will narrate the video and possibly fit a few short interviews in with alternative opinions about certain Horror films and the genre in general. The hardest part of the video will probably be capturing the Video clips - I'll need to record clips of the films using my DVD recorder and then rip the video files onto my PC. With these files being so large, I will probably have to edit it all on my laptop otherwise it'll take ages to get it all transferred and converted across to the College Computers.

As I've done nearly all the research I can about Horror in my sketchbook now, I'll probably start coming up with some ideas about how to comprise the video and exactly what clips I'm going to need to gather.

Here's hoping I'll get it all done in time!
