At Last!

...I have finally finished my Horror Documentary video! Today we had Chris in, and I was just getting to the final stages of my video. He said he was very impressed with my 'Professional' Video and gave me some fantastic tips to perfect it. First, he suggested that I went out and took some photos of scenes that often appear in Horror films eg. a Bathroom like in Saw and then edit them for the title transitions instead of using my Photoshopped Grunge background.

I went a few minutes around Brighton and took some photos from Low angles of some pretty rotten areas and then edited them in Photoshop mostly by decreasing the Brightness and Increasing the Contrast to give it a Dark and grungey feel. I feel that it looks much more creepy and professional now. He also told me a few things to do with my titles such as making them smaller, simpler and using some more 'sophisticated' fonts which all in all worked out better. He finally told me to change a few of the transitions where the video flies in and just change it to a simple fade which once again, works in my favour.

I finished the Video earlier today and then burnt it straigh onto a Playable disc. Only problem is, there's sometimes a bit of difficulty getting it to play straight away, but I now have the hang of getting it to play. My video ended up being just under 6 minutes long (about 5:55 in the end) which I know is a tad longer than expected but I really cannot cut out anymore without ruining it (as my 8 second credits screen will tell you XD)

I am very pleased with my final Disc, the Quality is outstanding - all the Videoclips captured play at the quality they would straight off any movie disc so I can use this in my portfolio for applying to Video Production at Uni. Unfortunately there was 1 random error in the final disc where it replays the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake clip twice, but it plays so quickly it ends up looking like a replay which I guess looks pretty neat.

I'm pretty much finished with this project which is a lifesaver as I've dedicated so much time into this project but as I've said - it's vital to put every ounce of effort into this as this is pretty much what I wanna do with my life at the moment. I've only got about 21 pages in my Sketchbook which are pretty intense but I still have to place in the final storyboard made from screenshots of the Final movie, a conclusion and a Bibliography which should get me upto around 26 pages which I think is fair with the amount of work that goes into each page.

All in all, most is all said and done... I'm just praying that by going over the video limit of 5 mins and possibly not having 30 pages in my Sketchbook won't bring my marks down...
