Things have really come together since my last post. I've managed to get 2 dates sorted for filming and interviews this week - 1 at the Viridor waste site and 1 at the Olus environmental composting site, both pretty opposite in the ways of sustainability so hopefully I should be able to get most of what I need from them. I've had other phone calls from other companies and such but most really don't seem to be bothered about helping as it's not really a beneficial issue to them. I still have no reply from Lyn Alwcock regarding the letter I sent to her about Tescos 'Greener Living' and the Sussex Energy centre never seems to answer it's phone anymore. I have been constantly phoning them up every day for the past week, but it seems to be a lost cause so I will try to get back to a few but the rest, I will leave the ball in their courts.
It's been quite an interesting experience over the past few days with all the phone calls, trying to negotiate to get what I need and I've learned a lot about many of the companies and have gained some more confidence in phone calls really. Tomorrow I have my date with Viridor at 9.30am but tonight I need to plan out exactly what I intend to film tomorrow but I've still not started my storyboard! Despite all my planning and research for this project, I still don't know exactly which aspects of sustainable technology I will be showing and composing but that still allows me to be a bit more free with what I do tomorrow and on Thursday. I want to try and keep a consistant style to my clothing throughout the video (most probably a shirt and jeans) just so that it seems a bit more pro.
So yeah, tomorrow we start the practical side of things and then we can start moving onto composition ideas and storybaords as I'll have a better idea on the specific area that I'll be basing my film. But it should be good fun and I need to get some questions written up tonight in preparation for tomorrow.
