Right, so it's been a couple of months since I wrote here, and this is the first post I've made since I've been at university, so let me explain to how I got to today!
University so far has been a very interesting, yet challenging experience. I've met some amazing people, and the nightlife around is fantastic - always something exciting to do at the weekends. The actual film course itself has taught me bundles of information that is really helping me to understand the film industry and just film production in general, but there is one module on the course titled 'Audio Visual Technology' that me and a few others are struggling with, as it's very maths and physics based, requiring knowledge on waveforms, 'the doppeler effect' and loads of other information that I had no idea would be relevant for a course in film production (and to be honest, I'm not even totally sure if any of this knowledge will be of real use to me).
The work load is pretty tight, I have 5 assignments to get completed and handed in by the end of next week, but I'm having a struggle with it due to illness. 2 weeks ago, I suffered the flu which I've never had before - and it was hell! I could barely even get out of my bed with the dizziness, so I was stuck in bed with a cold sweat for 3 days which was horrible. I had pretty much recovered by last week. Then this week, I end up getting tonsillitis which this is the 5th day I've suffered through of it, but I obtained some anti-biotics from the doctor yesterday and I'm slowly making my way through the recovery process. I just can't believe that I've had both of these illnesses in the space of a fortnight, when I've never had either of them in the past! Everyone in my flat got the flu but yet, I'm the only one with tonsillitis and I don't understand why my body seems to be so prone to these diseases. After I had the flu, I dramatically cut down my alcohol intake to try and help my immune system build itself up and I started eating more fruit and veg to keep a healthier system but it doesn't seem to be doing much.
Still, let's hope that the worst is through and that this just means that I will be immune to these diseases atleast until next winter. I'm fine dealing with a petty little cold, anything that a strepsil and vicks can solve. Just 2 diseases that you have to painfully ride out until they're completely gone, just seems really unfair and is reducing my reliabilty at uni and my new job.
