Driving Test

Just had my first driving test... And failed :(

Had a pretty rude driving instructor. First fault came 10 mins in when the Traffic Lights changed exactly at the worst time, so by the time I braked - I overran the stop line. Only got a minor fault for that (and as you probably know, you're allowed up to 15 minor faults until you fail).

Next fault came in when I had to reverse around a corner, but the instructor told me to pull in late, so by the time I did - I was miles away from the corner. He told me I was too far, but I had to keep going because you're not supposed to block driveways when stopping. Anyways, I reversed back, but I was so nervous and concentrated that my focus was all on the side mirror making sure I didn't tap the curb otherwise I'd get an instant fail. Because of this, I didn't see the car coming round the corner and got another minor fault for not being aware of it. Went around the corner, and went to too wide (another minor fault). Eventually when I got around the corner, I tried to straighten up, but went too far and hit the curb and the car stalled. When I started it back up again, it was stuck against the curb and I knew I'd failed then.

Continued on with the drive anyways, with a horrible feeling of disappointment in my chest. When we got towards the end of the test, I had to go around this massive roundabout which I've had troubles with for ages. It was fine, but apparantly I left my signalling off too late and the car behind got confused, so I got a serious fault for it.

Apart from that, the rest of test was pretty much fine, but I'm so disappointed with myself because I was so certain I could make it. I've had family phoning up all day excited to hear news of me passing, which is tough to tell. It's also a pain because I'm gonna have to wait until the 31st December until I can take my next test which is almost 2 months away so it's gonna be really inconvenient... I know loadsa people will tell me not to worry and get over it, but it's just so damn hard... Especially as loads of people pass first time and Nathan has his test next week and he'll probably pass first time and he's had much less lessons than me, so I'll be getting teased with that...

*sigh*
