Right, so today had been scheluded for the second day of recording, with me, Matt (the audio guy) and our antagonist planning to film one of the 3 storylines in the woods. Unfortunately, our antagonist is ill so we had to postpone today which is a shame, especially as we under-achieved with the amount I planned to get done yesterday and we're going to have to re-do some scenes.
Yesterday was good fun, just it was quite tough as most of the people didn't know each other, and had some troubles getting into the roles of the characters and acting in general, but we were pretty warmed up by the end. Our next session is planned for Sunday evening (after work all day Saturday and Sunday morning/afternnon) and then Monday eve and hopefully finishing on Tuesday evening. If we can get everything finished to a reasonable standard by then because efficiently, half the battle is won in terms of production, as it's just the joyous task of editing remaining, which I managed to get done in half the time I planned with the last project.
The project's pretty stressful, trying to run and organise the whole thing. Keep people hungry, supplying all the transport, food and then bossing people about with the directing, on top of the continuous takes and chase scenes during this crazy heat wave we have at the moment... But this is the first film that I've written and directed on such a scale, so it's been really interesting and I really hope we can get it looking creepy rather than a tacky college project!
