So Monday was the fourth and at last - final day of our filming, and it's such a relief to have all the physical work completed! Everyone came on Monday, as I requested that we re-did a few scenes due to continuity issues and some of the scenes didn't come out as good as I had expected, but the re-made ones look much better. I've been editing since, but I've had to re-edit some of the scenes from last week as I realised I didn't reduce the frame rate on them. I want a slower frame rate so the film looks more cinematic rather than something from a DV camera.
Editing is getting there. There's so many scenes to edit, and I have to do it in an un-ordinary way as certain scenes cannot be edited until another is done, but we're getting there. I'm behind my actual time plan at the moment. On it, I had planned to get filming finished 2 weeks ago, but filming has taken much longer than I originally anticipated. That said, I have been editing as the project has come a long and I also did my Flash tests last week, which was what I was meant to be doing this week. I did another Flash test yesterday, with the current footage, and the quality still isn't great, but the important point is that I can get the video interactive and I still have the high quality shots for future use anyway.
I can't wait to get the final product finished, it's looking pretty interesting. I'm planning on having additional sections on the main film menu to watch the outtakes and cast interviews that we captured in the week, so it feels more like a pro DVD rather than just an experiment on a disc.
My plan is to have the whole project finished in about a week, and at time of writing I would say it's viable. Only time will tell though!
