Term trois

So, we arrive for the third and final round of the 2nd year of university. Oddly, this term only has 3 weeks of lectures and 2 weeks after that, this academic year is over for my class so hopefully it will be a short and sweet experience.

The Greener Brum documentary is near complete now, all the filming and narration is sealed and it's just fine cutting the rest and a sound mix which really are jobs that can be left for the editor in our group (I say that and will no doubt kick everyone out and perfect it until I'm happy) and it's nice to have a feeling that I managed a team and everything went ahead of schedule! I'm just having a few problems of where exactly to go from here. No real inspirations have lept out at me, so I'm looking for a script to shoot/produce and tomorrow morning I'm heading to a creative networking society to see if there are any productions running shortly.

I have over 3 months this Summer and I want to do more than my usual routine of work-sleep-work-sleep-haveaheavynightout-sleep-sleep-sleep... I have an urge to get hands on with equipment and productions. Pay isn't something that really bothers me at the moment, I just need to beef out my credits as I have actually come to notice that it's not as great as I originally thought in my head.

I do have a big piece of news, but it is all up in the air at the moment for a future production. I made a website over easter for a family friend, hosting his military vehicles and equipment (http://www.scottmilitary.co.uk/) and I have pretty much been given permission to use most of the vehicles from the site, free of charge. Utilising my opportunistic side, I thought that this is the ULTIMATE chance to make a WWII film. I am aware that I lack the knowledge and experience to make a sequel to Saving Private Ryan, but this could be a turning point on my portfolio. I have some ideas on what I want, but I really want to find a scriptwriter for this or a co-producer to get the ideas rolling. It would be shot mostly next year I would imagine as a great deal of planning would be required.

Anyhow, I'm now going to watch some more of the painful Prison Break Season 4 (another one of these boxsets that I mindlessly watch just to see how it progresses to the finish). Night.
