A Greener Brum documentary

Past couple of weeks have been pretty busy with the pre-production of this film. We've had some struggles with the casting of the presenter but have finally at the last minute managed to get it sorted! It'll be fun to shoot a documentary with a professional and it is confirmed that we are shooting the film in HD. We will be interviewing a council representative about waste disposal in Birmingham, another about recycling (who will be giving the crew a tour around a public recycling centre). We will be interviewing a representative from Birmingham friends of the earth, an employee of Age Concern (a charity shop, a method of re-using old and unwanted products), we will be shooting public interviews in the city centre and Perry Barr One Stop and finally we will be visiting a landfill site.

All of this will hopefully take place over 3 intensive days next week and with the role of Producer, it is my responsibility to make sure it flows smoothly and all the proper paperwork is filled in. It should be an interesting film to shoot and I can't wait to see what the final edit will be like. I just finished editing some footage of some shot scenarios we experimented with at 'safeside', a fire safety area where there are built scenarios to practice escaping from fires. This worked perfectly as a film set and we had to film different scenes, according to the Master Shots book. I didn't spend long editing it so don't judge the quality but the actually scenes look pretty neat with the location that we shot in.

Finally amongst this hefty update, I finally came up with the idea for my next script after some events this weekend. We have to submit an original screenplay proposal in two weeks and I have a great idea for it now and if it is approved, I may plan on shooting it in the near future!

P.S - This week the Resident Evil Challenger Messageboard was hacked and went down for good so we started a new forum with 'ThatEnglishDude' (a.k.a Jack Claxton who I've known for years) and is bustling more than ever with 100 members and over 3,000 posts in just a few days. Well done guys! Check it out here - thatenglishdudeforum.co.nr
