Finding Flynn, Fortean and new projects

Just had the Finding Flynn screening at our University. Most of the actors showed up, full crew and a few university lecturers popped in so was good to get a decent sized audience to watch it. Got some pretty good feedback which is great and hopefully one of the film festivals we've submitted it to will pick it up. It's odd, this time last year I posted a blog about the About Sixteen Premiere and it's quite amazing how much has changed since then. Production standards, equipment, casting... Just makes me wonder where I'll be this time next year...

Also finished a short called Fortean a few weeks ago. Picked up my Canon 550d and decided I wanted to shoot a short with it to test it out. Spoke to Matt and we got a script together for a paranormal-psychological horror. Managed to get 2 of my friends from Blood Money together and spent 3 days shooting the film. It was fun to light the atmospheric scenes and was great to play around with the camera. All in all, the film looks good considering the amount of time that was spent planning it and we managed to get some extensive lighting set ups.

The next project is now on the go, a 30 minute short named Turner, directed by John Macpherson, the actor who plays Roman in Finding Flynn. He approached me about a script he'd been working on and asked if we could crew up for another film. Looks like a fun project to do, but will be an intensive 6-day shoot. Filming starts in mid February so expect to see more info on that soon!
